On the 4th of April only few people were able to witness the metal show organized by the almighty Hammer and tongs - tour and promotions agency which was held in Club Exit in Osijek. The night consisted of two bands - The Athenian thrashers CHRONOSPHERE and the local black metalers Wasteland

That metal show was opened around 9pm by the locals - Wasteland; a black metal band formed in Beli Manastir in 2005. They released two demo albums "Of battles and shadows" (2008.), "Mračne dveri Baranje" (2011.) and the album "Slava palim ratnicima" (2015.). The band members now are Morgoth (vocal), Executor (guitar), Defiler (guitar), Lurtz (keyboard) and Gothmog (drums). Their raw riffs and vocals are done pretty well even though at some point they weren't quite synchronized with one another. Some intros were surprisingly soothing and some of them were pretty raw and aggressive with melodic elements throughout the song which were really mesmerizing.

After some black metal it was time for CHRONOSPHERE to take the stage and show us how it's done. They formed this band in 2009. in Athens, Greece and started ofcourse like an old-school thrash metal band but now they have taken their thrashing to a whole new fucking level. The band consists of Spyros Lafias (vocals/guitar), Kostas Spades (bass/back vocal), Thanos Krommidas (drums) and Panos Tsampras (guitar/back vocal). They released two albums - "Envirusment" in June, 2012. and "Embracing Oblivion" in June, 2014. and they are definetly one of the rising thrash metal bands in Greece. These guys were sharing the stage with the alltime legends Sodom, Evile, Rotting Christ etc. But that's not all, they had some pretty amazing appearance at the Metaldays festival and Wacken O.A. festival; now that's really fucking impressive. And now on the 4th of April they came here in Osijek due to their Embracing Europe pt.2 tour, and on that show were only 20 people...Only 20 fucking people and these vicious Thrashers made the best of it and some brutal headbanging was heading our way. As soon as they started playing all hell got loose and the neck wrecking rythm was there, combined with fast and killer riffs done by Panos. Not even for a second did they leave us hungry 'cause their performace from the very beginning was filled with furious drumming and awesome vocals. After a few of their killer songs they played the Iron Maiden song "Iron Maiden" and they closed their show with the inevitable Motorhead song "Ace of Spades". The band members were bursting with energy so they went off stage and had no problem playing around the club in the audience.

For the closure for this review I would like to point out that these guys deserved so much better that night from the audience and I hope that most of you out there who didn't want to come to this show will learn someday how important it is to appreciate and support metal bands in these times. A big shoutout goes to Hammer and tongs and ofcourse CHRONOSPHERE.

Hope to see you guys again! Skal!
