Beyond the Gates 2017 - live report

Published on September 5h, 2017

The sixth edition of Beyond the Gates marked the expansion from a small scene at Garage to USF Verftet, having said that the expansion was not to oversell the festival but to give the audience the opportunity to appreciate better concerts in a hall with bigger capacity, not only for people but also to handle light and sounds for the bands.
Still some concerts during the afternoon plus the traditional QUIZ were held at Garage on what it was called "The Dungeon". Concerts at Garage and USF didn't crashed on time and it was possible to simple assist all the bands.

At USF only Rokeriet scenario was used for the concerts, so in between the concerts there was a pausa  - to prepare the scenario for next band, and which fits perfect to check merchandise, taking fresh air or buying a beer.
I personally don't enjoy when two bands are running at same time - people starts to run from one place to the other, there are queues.. and it gets quite messy; specially when it is in an indoors festival.

In the ground floor, at Sardinien was accommodated a Merch area, so you will come and have the fest merch, bands merch, some distributors and shops merch all together to have a look around, plus; there is a bar in the back side soit was also a place to chill and relax.

A VIP area was accommodated in the 3rd floor, at Studio... all "Early Birds Tickets" received a VIP band and other like artists, special guests and some of the press will get access to the VIP. What was ongoing in there, another bar with DJ was set at Studio, nice place to have a chill whenever you wanted to have a more DJ driven experience.

In general, I should say that USF was nicely prepared for the festival; giving the opportunity to everyone to enjoy the concerts, chill around and have fun. Keeping an extreme and underground spirit – but; of course giving the opportunity of it to expand.

And about the concerts, because it was a killer line-up!
